Firehouse Gym first opened its door to to amateur boxers in 2012 by owners Sean and Judy Clerkin. Sean, the third eldest in a family of 13 - was an amateur boxer in his home country of Ireland at the age of 13 and continued boxing in the British Merchant for six years. In 2013, Sean was elected into the National Golden Gloves Hall of Fame. Sean still manages at Murray's Steakhouse and continues to be the Godfather of amateur boxing in the Upper Midwest.
